Oatmeal

Ummmm, so, today is my second day in a row eating oatmeal for lunch. That's right, oatmeal folks.

Now, you may be wondering, Why? Why would Bekah it oatmeal two days in a row?

Perhaps you are thinking, Oatmeal? Are the Wightmans really poor? Do they need some money?

Or alternatively, is Bekah trying to slim down for Christmas?

You may be thinking, Bekah....oatmeal....pregnancy! She must be fighting off the nausea of that first trimester with OATMEAL, sneaky girl.

AND THE WINNING GUESS IS?

That I am lazy. You see, I can't seem to bring myself to get out of bed on these early, dark cold mornings and actually make something worth eating. I would rather snuggle up to my Parker or sleep or read a book or a million other things that do not involve leaving bed...so it's Oatmeal for me.

What is your oatmeal...hmmmm? What effect do cold winter mornings have on you?

  1. I don't make lunch, I wait to see what people at work have brought then eat their left overs, or just make myself a peanut better sandwich (steve stays stocked up on bread and peanut butter)

  2. Bekah, you almost got me...I was slowly scanning down the post, when I got to the question of which reason was true, I almost couldn't go on out of pure anticipation! My oatmeal is doing my hair, it just never seems to get done lately...good thing Brandon doesn't mind! I love reading your posts by the way, they always make me smile!

  4. lol yeah i've been taking oatmeal with me to work for quite a while now. Not because I am pregnant. Or because it makes me feel less nauseous. But because it is sooo cold. I like to sleep in until the last minute. Then i get up and hurry put some oatmeal in a Tupperware and leave. Im kind of getting sick of it though. I need some new breakfast ideas.

  7. I have a hard time getting my lazy bum out of bed too...usually that means I sleep in until I hear Evie yelling at me to come get her from across the hall. That's one alarm that has no snooze button.

  8. I just read through your blog, as you suggested! I found this post and though I'd comment here, that cold mornings make me want to be a turtle and stay in my shell of warm sheets and never come out. My version of oatmeal is toast and hot chocolate though- so you're one up for nutrition on your lazy breakfast!
I have loved catching up on this last year through reading your blog! Year? Man I'm an awful and very sporadic friend- no I am always your friend; just pitiful at keeping in touch! Any way, several posts made me laugh out loud and made me regret the distance between us! How I miss living in the building next door!
Well, thank you- THANK YOU! for catching me online today and wanting to still be my friend
    : )
I cant wait to see you in the next few weeks- and kick off this fall season with some fabulous baking! (Though will this fall under your special occasion clause- may you eat what we make ; )
By the way, I love fall too! I could almost wish it were fall all year round (except I'd miss blistering heat and falling snow), the crisp yet still warmish weather is invigorating and makes me feel healthy and vital.
K this is turning into an email instead of a comment, so I will end this with a cyber hug and say that I am still impatiently waiting to see you!
    Love you!
